So… what else is there to do during summer nights but watch instant netflix?  So, I created a game where you watch 5-10 minutes (5 is more fun) of a movie, and then judge it.  Skip credits for old films.

1) Heidi - that’s right, the old black and white film with Shirley.  She is adorable.  and kind of annoying actually.  Well, beautful cinematography (or should I say obvious Hollywood film set).  Plot is going very slow.  However, intriguing storyline.  Evil uncle?  2/5 stars.

2) Tuck Everlasting - I actually remember seeing this a long time ago and I used to love it.  Since then, I’ve forgotten just about everything.  Ah I forgot how sexy Jesse is…  A lovely adaptation.  Melodramatic Disney music is always a plus for me.  And dramatic voiceover is actually forgiveable.  And <3 Alexis Bledel.  Plot moving quickly.  Cinematography lovely.  Acting quite good.  I like the theme a lot - allowing wildness into life.  And allowing yourself to live life, then pass on.  Finding that living forever is not the perfection that it’s made out to be.  5/5 stars.

So I’ve decided to watch a couple movies, and rate them accordingly

1) Karate Kid -  I always enjoy a good revenge film with a corny ’80s soundtrack and overdramatic acting, with a fuzzy heartfelt message about kicking butt.  I would say 4/5 stars.

2) The Ugly Truth - a) in the first 3 minutes, it’s already overacted, and not in the cute ’80s movie way.  b) the screenplay is awkward and doesn’t make much sense.  and ISN’T funny.  c) for once, I dislike Katherine Heigl’s character.  I need Izzy!  However, the chemistry between Butler and Heigl is hooott.  There are good moments - it’s a good thing I like vulgarity haha. Too bad they are not sustained.  Although I think men should be free to be as ‘manly’ as they want, I also think that not all cases are the same, and that the film overexaggerates this.  And not all men make a life-change for a woman, and then get all ‘good’.  It’s pretty damn rare.  They’re probably just denying who they really are.  I’d say 2/5 stars.

Just had an epic weekend - went to the Grassroots festival in Trumansburg, NY where local bands and some worldly bands (Arrested Development, Burning Spear, Rusted Root) rocked the stages.  It was beyond awesome except for the fact that it was raining all weekend and since I was camping, I wasn’t able to wash the mud off my bod til yesterday night.

Anyways, I’ve noticed a general downturn in my energy today, and for some reason I have the moody blues.  GAH.

So, me, living by impulse ended up partying last night with whiskey (was it whiskey…haha) and red wine.  With not much carbs in my body.

Anyways let’s just say this led onto the craziest dreams ever.

1) I was an ‘assistant’ to the gods - they looked like normal human beings, and I was ‘romantically entangled’ with one that looked like Logan from Veronica Mars (rawr).  Anyways, time started to get warped and we were suddenly going into the prehistoric era.  word.

2) I was part of Buffy’s new gang, which for some reason decided to OPEN the Hellmouth, rather than closing it..

3) I was given this paper which allowed me to fly, and I could go anywhere in the world within minutes.  While stopping in Russia, I discovered my friend Mike and he showed me around.  Later, after realizing that trees and beings of the earth were trying to steal my paper, I recruited ten people to split the paper so that there would be ten ‘fliers’.  wtf.
